Ceremony remembers rescue of Allied pilots in WWII

Metlika, 25 September - The city of Metlika in the south of the country hosted a ceremony on Sunday in memory of the liberation of more than 100 Allied prisoners-of-war by the Slovenian Partisan resistance movement in 1944. Addressing the event, Prime Minister Miro Cerar said that the rescue had been "an early lesson on the importance of alliances".
