Slovenia's Oblak named best keeper in La Liga
Madrid, 25 October - Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak has been named the best shot-stopper in the Spanish premiere league La Liga in 2015/2016, having conceded the fewest goals in the season.
The 23-year-old Atletico Madrid member only conceded 18 goals in 38 matches and did not miss a single minute of league action, the La Liga Awards jury said on Tuesday.
Oblak racked up 82 saves during his 3,420 minutes of playing time throughout the campaign and played a pivotal role in the club's third-placed finish.
His performance "cemented his status as one of Europe's best shot-stoppers," La Liga said.
