Review of Slovenian Press
Ljubljana, 11 August - Slovenian daily newspapers today devote their front pages to yesterday's talks between representatives of Slovenia and Italy. They also focus on the press conference held by Janez Janša, the Slovenian Minister of Defence, who expressed his doubt about the regularity of the investigation into the case of the arms cache discovered in Maribor. Editorials mainly cover these two topics. Other heavily covered topics are the latest price rises for services and goods (Večer), and the brewery in Buzet in Croatia, formerly owned by Union (Delo). The results of the latest opinion poll conducted among Slovenian secondary-school students are also of interest (Republika). The students replied to a question on violence against foreigners and refugees. Among other events, Bosnia-Herzegovina remains at the centre of attention; fighting continues, and the Serbs have yet to withdraw from their positions on Mt. Igman and Bjelašnica.
