Weekly review of Slovene Economy from 28 September through 5 October

Ljubljana, 5 October - Central banks governors and finance ministers of four of the five successors to former Yugoslavia (Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Slovenia) met Sunday in Washington to exchange their standpoints and information regarding the proposal of the Basel Bank for International Settlements (BIS), presented on 5 July, regarding the succession to former Yugoslavia central bank's assets and its shares in the BIS capital stock. The participants agreed that the proposed model and the procedure of succession were acceptable. The four countries had already initiated the necessary procedures for the adoption of the BIS proposal with proper institutions. Some of the procedures have already been completed while some are currently under way and are to be finished soon.
