Watch snow volleyball, run on the Slovenian coast

Kranjska Gora, 15 March - Sport enthusiasta will be able to watch professionals play volleyball on snow in Kranjska Gora or to participate in several running races taking place on the Slovenian coast this week.

The international tournament in snow volleyball in Kranjska Gora, north-west, will feature the best European snow volleyball players in 24 men's and 12 women's teams.

The events start on Friday with a snow volleyball school for children, followed by the qualifiers on Saturday and the final tournament on Sunday.

Recreationists are also invited to the Slovenian coast, where the 13th Connect the Saltpans run will take place.

The event features runs starting in Koper and Izola in the morning and an 8-km non-competitive night-time run in and around Piran. The concluding event is a 10-km run between the Piran saltpans and Strunjan saltpans.

Snow is also the main topic of a ski touring trip to Mt Dobratsch in Austria's Carinthia. The route is not difficult and is suitable for complete ski touring beginners.

The cycling season in Slovenia will meanwhile be opened by the 7th Portorož Bike Festival, featuring three routes (41 km, 56 km and 88 km).

The mass start races will take the participants from Portorož to to Croatia and back to Slovenia.
