Sugar beet production revived

Ormož, 13 March - Slovenia discontinued sugar beet production a decade ago and shut down its only sugar factory in Ormož after the EU introduced sugar quotas, but now a handful of farmers in north-eastern Slovenia have decided to plant sugar beet once again. The crop will be exported to Croatia.
