In the first preliminary round of the Water Polo Championship Cup, Greece's team Olimpiakos defeated Romania's Steauo, the result being 9:3 (2:0, 1:0, 2:2, 4:1). The second match Friday will be between Slovenia's champion Triglav and Britain's Bristol.
