Extreme skier Karničar taking on K2 after making history at Everest

Ljubljana, 12 June - Its small size notwithstanding, Slovenia is recognised as a superpower in the mountaineering world, while it is also known for its skiers. Combining the two is Davo Karničar, who became in 2000 the first to ski non-stop down Mount Everest. He is now off to execute the first ever full ski descent from K2, the world's second highest mountain.
