Take an obstacle challenge or run for Africa
Planica/Ljubljana, 14 June - Recreational events of note this week include an obstacle challenge taking place around the iconic Planica ski-jumping hill and a run in the capital that will raise funds for the hunger-stricken parts of Africa.
The Oviratlon Obstacle Challenge at the Planica Nordic Centre on Saturday is an "attractive and ultimate test of one's own capabilities on a 8-10km track with various obstacles."
"Oviratlon is not a competition or a battle with time. It is a test of endurance, strength and skill with help from your best friend, relative or a complete stranger," the organisers say.
On Sunday, you can join a fund-raiser to help people in East Africa suffering from hunger, with the participation fee donated to the Action Against Hunger non-profit organisation.
The Ljubljana Running 4 Africa is a 7-km run as part of an initiative of friends and enthusiasts in Ljubljana, London, Paris and Mexico City.
"If you can't run, you can help by spreading the word among your friends and motivate them to join us!", the organisers say.
