Committee shelves proposal to cancel increased defence funding

Ljubljana, 19 June - The parliamentary Defence Committee rejected on Monday a proposal by the opposition United Left (ZL) not to increase defence funding in line with NATO commitments. The ZL had proposed the emergency committee session to urge the government to stop "dealing with fictional needs of NATO and the EU" on account of its citizens.
