Milan Kučan was the president of independent Slovenia in the 1992-2002 period, and not the 1991-2002 period. Before that, he was the president of the Slovenian presidency from the spring 1990 onwards. A corrected copy follows below.

Ljubljana, 12 July - Slovenia's first President Milan Kučan believes that Slovenia does not need a "silent president" who should merely perform a ceremonial role. "A president who is likeable to everyone is not necessarily a good president," he also told the Nedeljski dnevnik weekly in an interview focusing on the upcoming presidential election.
