Join a marathon on Lake Bohinj or race with mountain bikes
Bohinj, 26 July - Recreation enthusiasts are invited this week to join a kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) marathon on Lake Bohinj (NW) or an enduro mountain biking event in bike parks in Austria and Slovenia.
The marathon on Slovenia's largest natural lake will start on Saturday at 10 AM on its south-eastern shore, with distances between 2,500 m and 10 km being marked.
"Rowing on Lake Bohinj is a special experience. Take it as a trip or a competition, because ranking is not important. What is important is the enjoyment and freedom of movement, which gets special meaning in the middle of the lake", the organisers say.
The Black Hole Bike Festival is meanwhile a two-day event that starts on Saturday on the new enduro mountain biking trail in the Petzen bike park.
The participants will be taken to the start with a gondola lift and will enjoy in a descent with an altitude difference of 1,000 metres.
On the second day on Sunday, the festival will switch to the Slovenian side of Mt Peca, to the Jamnica bike park, where competitors will climb an altitude of 900 metres in three stages.
The races will also serve as qualifiers for the World Enduro Series.
