Slovenia's Exports Covered 84.9 Percent of Its Imports in the First Nine Months of 1996

Slovenia's exports amounted to US$ 5.868 billion and imports to US$ 6.910 billion in the first nine months of this year. The deficit totalled about US$ 1.041 billion, while the cover of imports by exports was 84.9 percent. The export-import cover stood at 88.5 percent in the same period last year, the National Office of Statistics established. The year-on-year comparison shows exports were down by 5.5 percent and imports by 1.5 percent.
