Ljubljana, 26 December - MAIL/TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Slovenia's national operator Telekom's aim by the year 2000 is to enlarge the telephone network so that there would be more than 40 telephones per 100 inhabitants. Furthermore, as the strategy of Slovenia's economic development foresees, at least one form of public telephone services should be available in all parts of Slovenia. In order to ensure this at least 232,000 new telephone subscriber's cables will have to be built. As it is actually possible to do only approximately 50,000 subscriber's cables per year this aim is to be reached only by 2000.
