Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from 22 through 28 December

Ljubljana, 28 December - On the proposal of Minister of Economic Activities Metod Dragonja, who stressed the necessity for an early parliamentary discussion about economic legislation, Minister Dragonja, State Secretary Vlado Dimovski and Speaker Janez Podobnik met on Monday. They talked about possibilities of putting some items on the agenda of the national Assembly as soon as possible. These items include a bill on the capitalization of the Development Fund, a bill on national guarantees for liabilities of the Development Fund, an amendment to the law on the Company for Insuring and Financing Slovenia's Exports, an amendment to the law on assuming certain liabilities of the companies that transferred public capital to the Development Fund and a bill on take-overs. Janez Podobnik promised to consider all the chances so that the parliament would discuss the batch of laws prior to other issues.
