Capital Gains of Natural Persons Taxed
Ljubljana, 2 January - STOCK/EXCHANGE/TAX
Clause 58 of the Law on Income Tax, concerning taxation of capital gains of natural persons, has been in force from the beginning of new year. Capital gains are taxed on annual basis, which means capital gains will compound for capital losses of the current year, while positive difference will have to be declared in the income tax return for the past year. Taxpayers will thus declare capital gains for the first time by 28 February 1998 for the current year. Capital gain tax concerns shares as well as bonds.
