Speaker Janez Podobnik Statement After Election of Prime Minister

Following the election of Janez Drnovšek for premier-designate, Parliament Speaker Janez Podobnik said his only comment on the voting result is that 46 MP's supported the candidate for premier-designate. As a Parliament Speaker, he finds of paramount importance the fact that amid political turmoil accompanying the parliamentary debate, the latter was conducted within the limits of normal parliamentary dialogue.
