1996 turnover at the Ljubljana Stock Exchange was SIT 87 billion (US$ 621 million), of which turnover in A and B listings was 64.7 billion (US$ 462 million), turnover on the external organized C market (OTC) amounted to 15.6 billion (US$ 112 million) and trade with short-term securities reached SIT 6.7 billion (US$ 47 million). Shares were the most traded securities, accounting for 77 percent of total turnover, with bonds having a 15 percent share and short-term securities 8 percent share in total turnover. Market capitalization at the end of last year was SIT 178.5 billion (US$ 1.25 billion), of which A and B listings accounted for SIT 140 billion (US$ 1 billion) and OTC for SIT 38.5 billion (US$ 275 million).
