State of surface waters in Slovenia above European average

Ljubljana, 8 October - A report by the European Environment Agency says that surface waters in Slovenia are generally in good condition. Sixty percent fall into the good chemical status category, which compares to an European average of 39%. The levels of mercury and brominated diphenylethers remain the main problem, as is the case in most countries.
