Drnovšek: "A young, dynamic team" - SLS Remains "Desired Partner"
Ljubljana, 24 January - GOVERNMENT/DRNOVŠEK
Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek presented Slovenia's new government Friday afternoon, leaving empty only two ministerial posts - the minister of agriculture and the minister of justice - which he is expected to appoint early next week. "The government enjoys support from the Liberal Democracy, the United List of Social Democrats, the Democratic Party of Pensioners and the Slovene National Party along with individual legislators: both minority representatives and independent Ciril Pucko, which totals 46 votes, a majority in Parliament, the same majority that re-elected premier," Prime Minister Drnovšek told a news conference. He emphasized he had offered further negotiations and later entry into the government to those parliamentary parties with which no agreement was reached.
