33 percent of Slovenia Covered by Digital Signal

The Global System for Mobile communications (GSM), set up by the company Mobitel on 31 July 1996, develops in accordance with the anticipated plans; 44 working base stations in the network ensure 40-percent coverage of Slovenia's population and 33-percent coverage of Slovenia's territory by digital signal. Slovenia's cellular phone operator Mobitel recorded that in five months, from August to December 1996, the number of the Mobitel GSM system users increased to almost five thousand.
