Bad bank posted EUR 7.8m net loss last year

The Bank Asset Management Company (BAMC), the state-owned bad bank, generated EUR 369.2m in revenue from asset management and reached a 9.5% return on equity last year. It however ended the year with a net loss of EUR 7.8m, according to the audited report published on Wednesday.

Mercator deep in the red but confident about future

Slovenia's largest retailer Mercator posted a EUR 72.7m loss for 2016, mostly on account of higher investments and impairments on claims to Agrokor group companies. Despite the steep loss, CEO Tomislav Čizmić remains buoyant, stressing that the company is stable and has been gaining market share, which will be crucial as the Agrokor story unfolds.

Employment statistics in Slovenia encouraging

Retailer Mercator reports EUR 73m net loss for 2016

Slovenia's largest retailer Mercator posted a EUR 72.7m loss for 2016 that it attributes to higher investments and impairments. Revenue declined by 4.5% to EUR 2.49bn, shows the annual report released on Wednesday.
