The second to last week in August was again marked by extensive political activity. After the holidays the Slovenian government met and directed most of its attention to the measures aimed at relieving the consequences of the catastrophic drought. The government was aided in this by the first autumn rain, which came too late, as the drought had already taken its toll. During the same session the government did not take sides in the disagreement between the ministers of defense and justice, Mr. JanŠa and Mr. Kozinec, respectively. A decision on this matter was rescheduled for the following session.
