Ljubljana, 30 August - LOJZE PETERLE'S STATEMENT ON RELATIONS BETWEEN SLOVENIA AND EUROPEN COMUNNITY=
"Less than a year elapsed since the initiative, i.e. since I had written as the Prime Minister of Slovenia to the President of the EC Commission, J. Delors, in February 1992 until the moment when the agreements were initialled. They were signed on April 6, 1993 in Luxembourg. Although many in Europe saw Slovenia in the context of unsolved conflicts in the Balkans, our intensive efforts to put Slovenia on its way to Europe immediately and without waiting for the others, have proven right and successful," writes Peterle.
