President Kučan for Closer Slovene-Turkish Cooperation
Brdo pri Kranju, 3 April - SLOVENIA/TURKEY/KUČAN/TOAST
In a toast made at Brdo pri Kranju in honour of his Turkish counterpart Suleyman Demirel, Slovenia's President Milan Kučan stressed Slovenia and Turkey share some common interests. Demirel is paying a two-day official visit to Slovenia. Furthermore, President Kučan called for intensifying bilateral cooperation in all fields, expressing hope that all the NATO members, including Turkey, would be favourably disposed to Slovenia's candidacy for NATO membership.
