Nedelo: Slovenia 2000: The End of the World, Slovenia in the EU, Kučan still President

The majority of respondents in Nedelo's public opinion poll, carried out 1000 days before the turn of the millennium, believe technological development will receive a strong boost after the year 2000 (84.4% of respondents), with the world facing major environmental problems (82.9%); while Slovenia, by than a member of the EU (71%) and NATO (66.2%), will encounter huge social problems (76.3%). A large number of respondents (57.2%) also believe Milan Kučan will still be president.
