Premier Drnovšek on Economy with Trade Union Officials

Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Drnošvek, Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs Anton Rop and Minister of Economy Metod Dragonja met with Slovenia's trade union officials (ZSSS, Neovisnost, KS 90 in Pergam) Tuesday. The premier presented the Government's main orientations for economy and welfare, stressing the social agreement was an important element of joint (economic and welfare) relations between the three social partners: the Government, the trade unions and employers. The main goal of today's talks was to revive and accelerate preparations for a new social agreement as the one currently in place is to expire in end-May.**
