Privatization Vouchers to Run Only by 30 June

The process of companies' privatization is drawing to its end. According to the central records SIT 76.2 billion remain on accounts of citizens' vouchers, SIT 60.6 billion of which is on accounts that have not been used yet. The total value of unused vouchers currently amounts to 13.4 percent of the total of issued vouchers and is to decrease to 10 percent by the conclusion of the privatization process, State Secretary for privatization Edo Pirkmajer said at Wednesday's news conference of the Ministry of Economic Relations and Development. Pirkmajer stressed that the validity of ownership vouchers would not be extended beyond 30 June 1997.
