Slovenia Determined to Join NATO
Ljubljana, 16 April - Slovenia decided for NATO in December 1993 when the Parliament adopted an amended resolution on the national security guidelines. In 1994 Slovenia became a Partnership for Peace programme member, and handed the individual partnership programme to NATO a year later. Last April, the Parliament passed a conclusion that Slovenia wishes to guarantee its basic security interests in NATO - a decision which unambiguously defines Slovenia's interest in the membership in the alliance. In September last year Slovenia concluded the third and the last round of its dialogue with the alliance.
