International Conference "Central and Eastern Europe and Euro-Atlantic Conference" Opens in Ljubljana

Ljubljana, 25 April - It is of vital importance to build an integrated security system and this "inescapable need" is closely related to this year's decisions on expanding the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union, with membership in these two organizations being Slovenia's strategic and vital goal, President Milan Kučan said in his opening address at the conference "Central and Eastern Europe and Euro-Atlantic Security". Similar views were expressed by Foreign Minister Zoran Thaler and Parliament Speaker Janez Podobnik. The first day of the conference is taking place on the premises of the Slovenia's National Assembly in Ljubljana.
