Five Economics Ministers Meeting in Austria
Ljubljana, 3 May - AUSTRIA/MEETING/MINISTERS
A two-day meeting of ministers of economy from Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Austria, initiated by Austria's Economics Minister Hannes Farnleitner, concluded on Saturday in Rust am See, Austria. The main issues on the agenda included preparations of EU associate members for full EU membership, possibilities for strengthening economic ties and open questions related to the World Trade Organization. Slovenia was represented by an economic delegation headed by Minister of Economic Relations and Development, Marjan Senjur.*** Heads of delegations talked about economic situation in individual countries, calling attention to major problems relative to the transition process and intensive preparations for joining the EU. A special issue discussed at the meeting was seeking for new ways of cooperation between the participant countries.
