Talbott Calls Slovenia "A very Probable Candidate for NATO Membership"

Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek met US Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott in a friendly meeting in Washington on Tuesday. Premier laid out Slovene arguments for admission to NATO in the first enlargement wave. In turn, Talbott called Slovenia "a very probable candidate", stressing the Alliance had not yet taken its decision on new members.
