Committees for International Relations and Defence on Slovenia's Joining NATO
Ljubljana, 7 May - The parliamentary committees for international relations and defence discussed, at a joint session on Wednesday, Slovenia's accession to NATO. While the committees were fairly unanimous that Slovenia should do by the Madrid summit all I can to be invited to the Alliance in the first enlargement wave, considerable differences emerged over the country's chances to achieve the goal, with the opposition legislators being particularly pessimistic about Slovenia's prospects.
