This season, the popular event, taking place in Pogačar Square, will be held not only every Friday, as was the case in the past, but twice a week, also on Thursdays.

Visitors will be able to indulge in barbecue meat, Mediterranean cuisine, vegan burgers and sweets as well as various beverages.

Alma and Lior Kochavy, Open Kitchen co-founders, are glad that the event will once again serve as a platform for numerous restaurants to showcase their delicacies and a way to revive the city centre, particularly in the light of the social and economic ramifications of the coronavirus epidemic.

The preventive measures include reduced capacity of tables and seats and increased distance between individual stalls. Surfaces will be regularly disinfected and hand sanitizers provided. Self-service is no longer an option and cashless payments are encouraged.

The use of face masks is not mandatory since the event takes place under the open sky, however face shields are recommended in case the safety distance could not be heeded.

All the food providers will also adhere to the relevant guidelines by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).

Last but not least, Open Kitchen pursues green goals, said the organisers, highlighting the use of biodegradable single use cutlery and recycling.
