Governor of the Bank of Slovenia, France Arhar, presented Wednesday details of the temporary solution concerning succession to the former National Bank of Yugoslavia that the Bank of International Settlements offered to central banks of the four successor countries. The Basel-based bank offered the central banks of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Macedonia to become BIS members by purchasing its shares. The solution would remain in effect until the negotiations on succession to ex-Yugoslavia and the distribution of the former National Bank of Yugoslavia are concluded.
