Slovenia's Imports from EU Exceed Exports by Almost US$ 179 Million

Slovenia's exports to the European Union member countries amounted to about US$ 1.3 billion and imports to about US$ 1.5 billion in the first quarter of the year. The value of imports from the EU was thus by US$ 178.7 million higher than that of exports, the export-import coverage totalling almost 88 percent.*** The National Office of Statistics has reported that in the first quarter of this year exports to the 15 EU nations were down by eight percent and imports down by 4.4 percent from the same period last year.
