The latest increase brings the total number of confirmed infections since the start of the pandemic to 2,087. The official death toll remains at 116.

The Hrastnik care home, site of the biggest current local outbreak, reported two more residents died over the weekend, but the Health Ministry said they were not yet included among the fatalities because of a delay in reporting.

Twenty people were in hospital on Sunday, down one on the day before, with the number of those in intensive care likewise dropping by one to three.

There are now an estimated 238 active cases in Slovenia, according to Covid-19 Sledilnik, a coronavirus tracking website.

Yesterday two new cases were recorded in Logatec near Ljubljana, and one each in Ljubljana, Brezovica and Žiri. There were no new cases reported in Hrastnik.
