If the Slovene Railways management had carefully considered all possible consequences of suspending strike committee members and some other workers, it had to foresee two possible scenarios of future events: either the suspensions end the strike or make it boil down to the level set by the government decree, or they produce quite the opposite effect, with the strike escalating and spreading throughout the country. Yesterday's events suggest we are facing the second option as railway workers further tightened the strike, with some other trade unions that so far remained more or less silent now backing the strikers, daily Dnevnik writes on Saturday.
