Three Proposals for Amending Constitution under Consideration

The constitutional commission agreed in principle on the nature of the act to amend the constitution. The change is to be made through a constitutional bill containing the new wording of the amended article 68, with the implementation act constituting its integral part, but in the form of a very short final stipulation that parliament expert services are to draw up by the next constitutional commission session. There are currently three proposals of the actual wording of Article 68 under consideration, put forth by the government, the Social Democrats leader, Janez Janša, and Miroslav Mozetič of the Slovenian Christian Democrats.
