Spain Supports Slovenia in its Joining Euro-Atlantic Integrations
Ljubljana, 22 July - From the very beginning Spain had been advocating NATO enlargement with all five candidates, including Slovenia. There are three important points from Madrid that signify great success beside the decision on NATO enlargement: that NATO enlargement is to continue, that a date for the second wave was set (1999) and that Slovenia is among the first candidates for the next wave of enlargement. By 1999, when the second wave of NATO enlargement is to take place, Slovenia can count on Spanish support, Spanish Defence Minster Eduardo Serra Rexach told journalists on Tuesday, the last day of his two-day official visit to Slovenia at the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Tit Turnšek.
