Another attempt to dismiss Speaker Zorčič fails

Ljubljana, 28 May - MPs were one vote short to dismiss Speaker Igor Zorčič on Friday, as was the case in the first attempt on 30 March after he quit the coalition Modern Centre Party (SMC). 45 MPs voted for his dismissal and none against in a secret ballot, as MPs from the four centre-left parties and unaffiliated MPs did not attend the vote. Two ballots were invalid.
