Three Final Decisions on First Day of MEPA

Three sets of medals were awarded on first day of the 14th European Athletics Championship (MEPA) in Ljubljana. Belorussian Yelena Ivanenko won the put shot contests as expected (17.05), Rumanian Claudia Iovan won the gold medal in the 5km walk (21:15.99), setting a new record, while Rumanian Ovidiu Tat won men's 10,000-meters (29:56,35).
