Dela Poll: Janez Drnovšek Most Popular Politician also in August

Ljubljana, 4 August - Premier Janez Drnovšek is the politician who left the strongest mark on Slovenia's political scene in August, claims over a third of respondents to a regular monthly public opinion poll that newspaper Delo's agency Stik conducted on June 29 and 30 among 693 of 1140 randomly chosen phone subscribers. Coming second and third with about half of the vote were Vice-Premier Marjan Podobnik and SDS leader Janez Janša, trailed by Parliament Speaker Janez Podobnik, outgoing Foreign Minister Zoran Thaler and President Milan Kučan. More than ten votes for the personality of the month title were also given to Lojze Peterle, SNS-leader Zmago Jelinčič and ZLSD leader Borut Pahor.
