"The heroes of Slovenian hearts go after bronze": The Slovenian men's basketball team has lost against France in the semi-finals of their debut Olympic basketball tournament and will play Australia in the bronze medal match tomorrow. (front page, pages 18, 19)

Coronavirus
"The source of the next pandemic": Experts are warning about lacking oversight of biosafety level 4 laboratories worldwide, urging politicians to act. (front page, page 6)

Football
"No decision on Europe in Prekmurje": Mura, Slovenian football champions, pulled out a goalless draw against Lithuania's Zalgiris and will have to win the away match to secure the last ticket for the UEFA Europa League. (front page, page 17)

"Basketball players going after bronze on Saturday": Despite their enormous wish to go for gold, Slovenia did not make it to the finals of the Olympic basketball tournament after losing to France by one point. They still have a chance to make history by winning bronze. (front page, pages 15, 16)

Military
"Afghan colleagues asking soldiers for asylum": After Slovenian soldiers left Afghanistan, some of the civilians there that had helped them, including translators, have turned to Slovenia for help as they are in danger as former NATO recruits. The Defence Ministry is looking at options to grant them asylum status. (front page, page 4)

Education
"School workers at a meeting, minister on Twitter": Head teachers are still without clear instructions about the upcoming school year even after yesterday's meeting with the Health Ministry officials, NIJZ and the ministry's Covid advisory group. The education minister did not attend the meeting. (front page, page 2)

"Let's go after bronze!": Slovenia did not advance to the Olympic basketball tournament finals in what was a suspenseful face-off with France, but the fight for the medal is not lost yet as Slovenia play Australia tomorrow for bronze. (front page, 21, 22)

Politics
"How much do politicians earn": PM Janez Janša was the top-earner among Slovenia's senior officials in June, whereas Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti received the highest pay among ministers and the second-highest among all politicians in the country. (front page, page 5)

Police
"Instead of praise, sanctions": If police officers become the victims of political interests, that could put at risk the safety of Slovenian citizens, the paper quotes one of the police trade unions in response to three police officers being reprimanded over their conduct at two protest rallies.
