Slovenia's Ombudsman Visits Collection Centre for Bosnian Refugees in Hrastnik

Hrastnik, 19 August - Slovenia's ombudsman Ivan Bizjak visited Tuesday a refugee collection centre in Hrastnik, 70 kilometers east of Ljuljana, which houses persons who have lost refugee status but are as yet unable to return to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Bizjak said after the visit he had found no evidence of the refugees being forced to return home, adding there were no cases of forced repatriation in the centre. He was critical of some formal procedures in Slovenia, but gave assurances that the position of persons in Slovenia who have lost refugee status and cannot return home had and would not deteriorate.
