Review of Events in Slovenia and Slovenia's International Activities from 24 through 30 August

Ljubljana, 30 August - The economy in Slovene was not very lively during the last week of the summer holiday. Numerous presentations were organized at the Gornja Radgona 35th International Agriculture and Food Fair, which is to wind up Sunday. Some companies - Mlinotest, Metalna and Slovenijales - convened meetings of shareholders. During the past week, Slovenian companies and banks which were shareholders of the former Yugoslav Bank for International Cooperation (Jubmes) received an offer from Belgrade to become shareholders of the new Yugoslav Bank, the legal successor to the former bank Jubmes. The Slovenian delegation visited Cyprus at the end of the week, where it discussed the future of US$ 146 million of the frozen deposits belonging to the former Yugoslav federation, currently deposited on a bank account of the Belgrade Bank branch office in Cyprus.
