Delo: Interview with Peter Havlik, Expert on Transition in Eastern Europe

Ljubljana, 31 August - Slovenia is one of the most successful countries in transition, even an exception where no imminent risks jeopardizing further economic growth can be noticed. However, it will have to do a considerable amount of work to improve its industry's effectiveness and wages policy. Wages are increasing too fast, which could have negative effects in the long run, Peter Havlik, an expert on Central and Eastern Europe's transition and deputy manager of the Vienna Institute for International Economic Comparisons (Wienen Institut fuer Internationale Wirtschaftsvergleiche - WIIW) said in an interview for the Saturday issue of Delo.
