August has been marked by Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek's "epistolary" activities, while the "well informed" have been engaged in traying to guess who w/could replace outgoing Foreign Minister Zoran Thaler, who offered his resignation just before the parlimenatary holidays stared. Some urgent diplomatic receptions were carried out by state secretary for foreign affairs Ivo Vajgl.
