International Housing Conference Starts in Slovenia

By privatizing most of its housing units, Slovenia rates high among those European countries where the majority of accommodations is in private ownership. This share totals 89 percent in Slovenia, while Switzerland still has less privately owned housing units than lodgings. Similar topics will be discussed by Slovene and foreign experts that gathered in Portorož, southwest, Wednesday for a three-day international conference on housing, organized by the National Urban Planning Institute in cooperation with the European Housing Research Network. Participants will focuss on modern approaches to the construction and renovation of housing units as well as on ways of managing them economically.
