Government Begins Budget Negotiations
Ljubljana, 23 September - The three government parties, the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia, the Slovene People's Party and the Democratic Party of Pensioners, held a meeting Tuesday afternoon to harmonize the 1998 draft budget within the governing coalition. Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek told journalist after the meeting that the coalition partners agreed on a common goal of a balanced budget with possibly no deficit.
